About Us

The Lighthouse Candle Factory was founded in 1997 by Betty Burger, affectionately known to everyone as "Ms. Betty." Ms. Betty was frustrated with the quality of store bought candles and set out to create a better product. A true pioneer in the industry, Ms. Betty perfected and began to manufacture the most even-burning, most fragrant and longest lasting candle available anywhere. From her custom wax blend to her proprietary dual-pour process, combined with using only the highest quality fragrance oils Ms. Betty created what our customers call "The Perfect Candle." Ms. Betty later branched out into offering oils and scented Odor Be Gone sprays that are exclusive to Lighthouse Candle Factory. 

Sadly, Ms. Betty passed away in February of 2023. Rebecca Overman, a Kernersville native and long-time customer of Lighthouse Candle Factory, could not fathom the products that Ms. Betty created not being available anymore. With a pledge to continue Ms. Betty's legacy, Rebecca opened the doors again on April 6, 2023. Rebecca and the Lighthouse Candle Factory team are committed to continue making the best candles, tarts, melts, oils, sprays, car hangers (diffusers) and smelly jellies on the planet!
